qemu-user-static software package provides QEMU user mode emulation binaries (static version), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install qemu-user-static
qemu-user-static is installed in your system.
Make ensure the qemu-user-static package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep qemu-user-static *
You will get with qemu-user-static package name, version, architecture and description in a table
